Awards will be given during awards night at the recipient's high school and will be paid to the college/university the recipient will be attending. Applications will be available at guidance departments in area high schools by Feb. 15 or may be obtained from the Wiggin Memorial Library or the Stratham Historical Society after that date. Center offers winter activitiesGREENLAND — The Great Bay Discovery Center is offering its Animal Autographs program during winter school vacation. The same one-day program runs Feb. 26 to Feb. 29 from 9:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. No program will be offered on Monday. This is a Winter Bay Ventures for kids ages 7 to 11.

Derek Trucks is amazing. i have seen him live several times and he truly is amazing. For those of you that think he just plays blues, get a clue. He is the most versitile guitarist around right now. Listen to his version of greensleaves - jazz listen to Sahib Teri Bandi - Middle eastern influence….he does to the guitar what Bela Fleck does to the banjo. This guy does not play straight blues…Maybe there is a reason Clapton has been taking him around the world with him in tour. .
Guess which driver's facing 21 years in prison — the drunk , rich ...
Considering the date, you might assume that at least one of the drivers was drunk — and you'd be right. Laura Varker was 17 years old, and she'd been tubing down the Salt River all day with her eight best girlfriends. Their T-shirts all read "Cinco de Drinko." Even an hour after the accident, Varker's blood-alcohol level was 0.09, over the legal limit for adults. And, as an underage driver, she was in violation of the law by having any amount of alcohol in her system. One of Varker's girlfriends, 15-year-old Felicia Edwards, didn't drink a drop. But it was Edwards who died when Varker's Yukon Denali hit another car and flipped over and over like a tumbleweed before coming to a horrifying stop on the Bush Highway north of Mesa. Edwards was thrown from the SUV and pronounced dead at the scene.
